To Give The New Bride Contemporary Design, Decorating Flexibility, Classic Collectability
PITTSBURGH, PA — February 20, 2002 — The new Genuine Fiesta® Accessories Collection adds glassware, flatware, small appliances and serving pieces to the Fiesta dinnerware collection. With its complementary classic art deco styling, Fiesta and Fiesta accessories will give new couples considerable decorating flexibility with a pallet of bold colors, including the newly introduced Plum. Plus, the new bride gets a great start on the long-term tradition of collecting Fiesta which has become the most collectable dinnerware design on the market since it was first introduced in 1936 by the Homer Laughlin China Company.
“To ensure continued collectability of Fiesta dinnerware and the new Genuine Fiesta Accessories Collection,” stressed Dave Conley, Director of Marketing and Sales, Homer Laughlin Co., “we will continue our long-standing practice of retiring colors and items as new colors and items are introduced. The average life of a Fiesta color or item is 10 years. New brides will be able to use and enjoy their Fiesta dinnerware and accessories with pride in the knowledge that they possess an American classic.”
The Genuine Fiesta Accessories Collection includes a new Fiesta serving dish, teapot, silver flatware, stainless cutlery, ice bucket, toaster, blender and a complete set of glass tumblers and glasses. Fiesta ware and the new Genuine Fiesta Accessories Collection are available at major retailers, and specialty stores throughout
North America.
Fiesta® was designed by Frederick Hurton Rhead in 1936, and is now among the most collected china in the world. As originally designed, the line featured art deco styling and bold, bright colors. The line was discontinued in 1973 and reissued in 1986 with new contemporary colors to mark its 50th anniversary.
Fiesta’s styling complements a wide range of decors. The current eleven colors complement one another as well as a wide range of interior palettes. Over 50 items in the line provide maximum service options to ensure consistent tabletop styling. The Fiesta plate's coupe shape allows maximum food plating surface; and its sculpted concentric rings highlight the frame and food presentation.
Founded in 1871, The Homer Laughlin China Company specializes in high-fired, lead-free glazes with an Alpha Alumina added body, Homer Laughlin remains one of the largest domestic potteries employing over 1,100 skilled workers in a 37-acre facility.
