Alfred University Students Complete Internship
at The Homer Laughlin China Co.
Newell, WV - Rob Woods from Alfred, NY and Pete Kelly from Wayne, Pa interned at The Homer Laughlin China Company during the month of July 2004. Their internship was sponsored by the Association of Glass and Pottery Manufacturers. Rob is a ceramic engineering student and Pete is a ceramic art student at Alfred University, Alfred, New York. Utilizing current skills and knowledge, the pair hand produced items on the pottery wheel, developed elusive crystalline glazes, and utilized a firing schedule to maximize crystal growth. Items will be donated to the East Liverpool Alumni Association Auction and Alfred University.
